Unwelcome - Stamping out anti-social behaviour in Thurrock

Tenancy Audit

No wool over our eyes!

Housing Services are visiting each and every council home in the borough.

It's doing this to make sure that sub-letting, fraud and other illegal activity is not taking place.

This action means that illegal tenants are uncovered and properties are made avaliable to those entitled to them.

To successfully carry out the 'audit' your help and co-operation is needed.

When calling officers will need to see the legal tenant in their home and in their presence, complete a short questionnaire.

They will want to see one of the following documents to prove identity:

  • Current Passport or
  • Photo Driving Licence

And additionally, proof that the tenant lives in the property, for example a recent Bank Statement or Utility Bill.

REMEMBER:

Officers will be calling - always ask to see identification and never let anyone in who can't prove who they are.

If you have any information about improper or illegal activity taking place near where you live - let us know right away.

Call us confidentially on 01708 - 891 394

And don't worry, your personal details will be kept confidential and won't be disclosed to any person.
