Message of Support
Tony Blair (ex MP and Prime Minister)
"Anti-social behaviour by both adults and young people creates havoc for the communities around them. Where that happens, we will not allow it to go unchallenged and unchecked.
We will take tough action so that the majority of law-abiding, decent people no longer have to tolerate the behaviour of the few individuals and families that think they do not have to show respect to others.
The "unwelcome" campaign in Thurrock supports the essential partnership between the community, local agencies and the Police which will trigger action to tackle anti-social behaviour and ensure that the public can feel and see real improvements."
Message of Support
Rt Hon David Cameron MP - Leader of the Opposition
"I am pleased to lend my support to Thurrock Council's drive to help "stamp out anti-social behaviour".
Violent crime and anti-social behaviour are wrecking lives and often it's the least well-off in society to suffer the most.
When it comes to making our communities a better place to live, we are all in this together. Individuals, families, government, business, voluntary organisations, all have a role to play. We have a shared responsibilty for our shared future.
This initiative will help people combat anti-social behaviour, and will encourage "pro-social" behaviour in which we all take responsibilty for improving our local communities".

Cllr Sue MacPherson - Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Housing
"I am very proud to be able to offer my unrivalled support to the unwelcome web-site, which really is a much needed 'one-stop shop' of information on Anti-Social Behaviour.
It is wonderful to see so many partners working together for the good of the borough.
Anti-Social Behaviour can affect us all and the unwelcome campaign and this site highlights what can be done to combat it. This site is extremely user friendly to both complainant and perpetrator and explains what part we all play, as it is not just a matter for the council or the police.
This Conservative administration has prioritised making the borough a cleaner and safer place to live in and through the hard work and dedication of our Anti-Social Behaviour Team, the people of Thurrock should have the confidence to report incidents and to show those who cause disturbances that such behaviour will not be tolerated."
